With the world coming to a grinding halt now and most of us caged in our abodes working furiously on the computer to get the project meet its deadline, it is a battle we are all too familiar with. Whether quarantine or otherwise, if you happen to be one of those people who spend a sizeable amount of time behind a keyboard, perhaps it is time to step away and reflect. Life as a blogger, or a management guru or any working professional spending way too much time on the computer, is difficult and can get frustrating very soon. Well-being, health, nutrition, motivation etc., aren’t necessarily the kind of words one would think about the profession, given the long working hours sitting behind the desk.

But it is equally important to pay attention to your life – health especially, as it great affects your job, the quality of the output and your overall wellbeing.

We all know that the online universe is brutal, and sitting in front of the computer can get very challenging. You have long working hours staring at a brightly lit screen that can be quite stressful to your eyesight, you tend to sit for long durations that may lead to bad posture problems and even the constant nagging by your clients can lead you to a path of self-doubt and anxiety.

Whatever the challenges are, it is imperative that you pay close attention to your health if you haven’t done so already. In this article, we’ll see how you can get some “me time” out of your busy schedule and get on track to becoming healthier.

1. Get your meals in place: Running a web design company in Mumbai is no small feat and we know how hectic things can get. Especially when you are close to delivering a client’s website and the clock is ticking by, the last thing you want to do is to utilize any time for activities you deem less important. The first thing perhaps to be on that list is to get your meals in order. Even after hours of continuous working, you completely ignore eating anything nutritious (or honestly, eating anything at all).

This can lead to other problems at work such as decreased concentration, being irritated at the slightest provocation and an easy gateway to fatigue which can put you behind your intended deadline.

A simple way to get around this problem is to have a meal planner in place beforehand. A meal planner does not have to be complex. It can be as simple as making use of an excel sheet to ensure that you are getting the right nutrition while you are working. Or you can make use of a fancy application that will keep track on your eating habits and recommend what needs to be consumed next. This way, you won’t have to worry about what to eat or skipping a meal entirely because meal planners come with notifications features which will remind you of your preferred meal times.

2. Get into fitness and exercise: We know this can be very testing for a lot of professionals but it is also the best way you can get in shape and maintain your sanity. Exercising regularly has become a necessity in the times that we live in. There’s a thousand chores on your mind and you are completely stressed out working long hours, investing your time in regularly working out can be a huge stress buster.

First of all, you’ll need to find a time that is convenient for you. It can be to your liking; when you feel the most relaxed and don’t have a lot of commitments on hand. If you working from home (as most of us are nowadays), that’s great because you’d likely keep to your schedule. However, if you are working in an office, then perhaps consider getting a membership to a gym nearby which will allow you to allocate time after or before work.

Getting professional help in the form of a personal trainer can also be very rewarding as he’ll be able to guide you correctly and you are also less likely to miss any workout sessions. Of course, the gym and personal trainer can be routed back in the routine once the world starts falling back in place, post pandemic.

Trust us when we say that fitness should be one of the top priority as a professional in 2020.

3. Invest in proper resources: You may have just begun your journey as a blogger and you’re sitting cramped up in that little nook in your home, furiously writing away one blog post after another. You do not have the liberty of a sprawling office to lay your wares neatly and you’re fidgeting in that chair for hours at length. This will invariably lead to a host of bodily ailments such as back pain due to incorrect sitting arrangement, poor eyesight or joint pain (such as wrist pain) if your desk is not favorable to type for long hours.

Investing in some good quality furniture is one step towards maintaining a healthy professional lifestyle. You may deem such an investment as frivolous since you’re at the beginning of what may be a long arduous journey. But we know it is completely worth it. As a SEO services company in Mumbai, we tend to be glued to our systems for hours at a stretch but because we have invested our resources in quality infrastructure, our team is kept productive and motivated.

4. Invest in self-care: If there’s anything from this article that you want to take away, it should be this. Working professionals tend to get carried away to such an extent that they completely forget about themselves and those around them. Physical wellness is one thing but being mentally healthy and sound is of utmost importance. You may spend a lot of money on purchasing the most nutritious food or get the most expensive gym membership, however if you remain under a constant mental haze and anxiety, then it is best to turn the tables and pay attention to your body.

Depression and anxiety can grow on you very quickly if left unchecked and things will continue to look bleak thereafter. It is not very difficult to miss signs of mental illnesses in the sea of work that you’ve thrown yourself into. It is thus better, to not to over-commit to additional work even if the pay is very handsome, or bring your office work in your personal space at home. Spend time with your family, loved ones and friends because they are one of the best ways to reduce stress and anxiety. Having clear demarcation between work and personal life will give meaning to your life as a whole.
