One of the finest desires of any devoted Muslim man or woman is to perform Umrah. Every year a large number of people come for the umrah pilgrimage. Pilgrims come to Mecca and Medina for performing umrah but there are a lot more places to visit Mecca and Medina. You might see the urban civilization, historical and religious places of Islamic civilization.

Numerous businesses imparting umrah packages with reasonably-priced flights and accommodation for your convenient journey but, if you are willing to explore more in Mecca and Medina then make sure to choose umrah packages that are covering at least all those places that you want to visit.

Mecca is officially known as “Makkah-Al- Mukarramah”. It is the holiest city of Islam. The great Mosque of Islam “Masjid Al-Haram” (Khana Kaba) build by prophets, Hazrat Ibrahim(AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS). Muslims used to pray in the direction of khana Kaba (Qibla). It is also the birthplace of our beloved prophet Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH).

1.       Jabal al-Naur
It is of the most important place in the history of Islam. The Holy Quran commenced revealing on Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) at the age of 40. Surah Al-Alaque’s first 5 verses were revealed on the prophet in Ramadan. This place is known as the Mountain of light or Ghar-e-Hira or Cave of Hira.

2.       Clock Tower Museum in Mecca

It is the world’s largest tower clock. The size of the clock is 43 meters long and the minute hand is 23 meters. This masterpiece is 35 times larger than Big Ben and decorated with more than eighty million mosaic tiles with 24-carat gold leaf. It will be the best lifetime experience to see the Kaaba from the clock tower.

3.    Jabal-e-Rehmat
It is also known as Mount of Mercy. This place has significant importance in Islam. According to pilgrim views, this is the place, where our beloved prophet Hazrat Mohammad Mustafa (PBUH) delivered his last speech of hajj.

4.    Maqam-e- Ibrahim

Maqam-e-Ibrahim is known as the Station of Ibrahim. It is a small square-shaped stone or block that belongs to Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail(AS). There are footprints of Hazrat Ibrahim on the stone while rebuilding of Khana Kaaba. It was said that The wall was so high, so Hazrat Ibrahim stood upon the stone and it miraculously lifted to continued also, went down when Hazrat Ismail to hand over him more stones.
This stone has 40 cm in length and width and 20cm in height. It is covered in golden metal enclosures and placed in The great mosque of Mecca (khana Kaaba).

5.    Bilal Masjid

This place has a significance important. Bilal ibn-e-Rabah is also known as Bilal Habashi. He was one of the important followers and Sahabi’s (Friends) of Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH). He was known as the first Mu’azzin because of his beautiful voice chosen by prophet Mohammad. (PBUH).  This mosque was named after Bilal. This mosque has beautiful architecture and design.

Medina is known as Medina-AL Munawarrah. This city has existed for over 1500 years earlier than the migration of Our beloved prophet Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) from Mecca. This is one among the three holiest cities of Islam, the other two are mecca and Jerusalem.

Quran’s some surah also revealed in this city and those surahs called as Madni Surah. Medinah was called Yathrib but later on, after the death of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad(PBUH) renamed it Madinah-Al-Munawarrah (The City of Prophet). This place has many historic/ holy places. Some of them will be included in your umrah packages, but some of them you will have to discover by yourself or discuss with the planner.

1.    Masjid-e-Nabwi

This place does not need any description. One of the most famous places in the Islamic region. It is known as Al-Haram Al Nabwi, the prophet’s mosque. It is the second most important place of Islam, the first one is The Holy place of Allah (Khana Kaaba). This mosque was built by the last prophet Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) and expanded after the battle of Khaybar.

If you go to umrah/hajj, your trip cannot be completed without visiting this place though it is not mandatory to visit but Muslims love and attract to this place because of their beloved holy prophet.

2.    Mount Uhud

Mount Uhud is also called Jabal-e-Uhud. It is one of the historic places of Islam. The battle of Uhud was fought between the non-believers and Muslims at the valley located near Mount Uhud. The Muslim army was led by prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and the non-believer’s army led by Abu-Sufiyan.

3.    Jannat-ul Baqi

It is located in the southeast of Masjid-e- Nabwi. And, it is one of the main cemeteries of Madinah. This graveyard has many graves including the graves of Prophet Mohammad’s family (PBUH),  friends, followers and, other pious people. This place has significance in Islam that only those people can be buried here who have the blessings of Allah. More than 10,000 companions of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) have been buried here.

4.    Wadi-e- Jinn

One of the most interesting places in Medina. It is the mysterious valley, where locals believe that the jinn lives here. Some referred to as it ghosts avenue as vehicles move here their own without drivers touching.

5.    Sabu Masajid

Sabu Masajid means Seven Mosques. This mosque is a complex of seven mosques. These mosques are located at the scene of the battle of Trench (Battle of Khandaq).

o   Salman Al-Farsi Mosque

o   Al-Fath Mosque

o   Abu Bakr As-Siddiq Mosque

o   Umar bin Khattab Mosque

o   Sa’ad bin Ma’az Mosque

o   Ali bin Abi TalibMosque
